The Ecovat energy system consists of various technical setups and is operated by software programmes developed under own management. To verify whether the setups work properly in all situations (scenarios) and whether the programmes work as they should, we have run a system integration test. We have done so in cooperation with VITO, Noda and Enexis
Step 1: testing the individual components
First, all power connected devices and appendages were individually tested. Does the right valve open and is the required notification received? Do the correct circulation pumps start running and is the heat pump or electric boiler turned on?
Step 2: testing the various operating scenarios
When everything can be operated individually, it is checked whether existing operating scenarios have been dealt with properly. The setups will be operated from the Ecovat Control Program (ECP). With the current setups there are thirty possible situations (scenarios) that can be simulated as well as checked.
Step 3: operation of the technical setups and the Ecovat by EAP
The ECP receives directions from the Ecovat Advise Program (EAP). The EAP is an algorithm that searches for an optimal efficiency of the energy system. For instance, it observes the energy market in realtime, as well as the Ecovat and the availability of the setups.
